What We Offer

• Tameshigiri Demonstration

  A demonstration of cutting Japanese tatami omote with a range of Japanese weapons: katana, wakizashi, naginata, nodachi, yari, and tanto.

• Gekiken: sparring

  A demonstration of a real, unscripted bout using specially padded bokken. The most faithful presentation of fighting with Japanese weapons.

• Kimono Dressing

  On our models we'll show how a traditional Japanese kimono is correctly worn across various social and historical contexts.

• Kimono Runway

  A presentation of garments from across the social classes of the samurai era.
